Unique Shop and Adopt Fundraiser Aids Rescued Animals

Edmonton, AB- What do fuzzy faces, friendly people, and local vendors have in common? The determination to make it a great Christmas for the dozens of unwanted animals courtesy of the Second Chance Animal Rescue Society.

On December 13th from 11am-6pm at the Kenilworth Arena, volunteers and vendors are teaming up to raise funds and promote the adoption of rescued animals this Christmas season. Vendors of all kinds will be donating up to 50% of their profits to help SCARS give the animals either a home or maintenance while they are waiting for their forever homes.

“Christmas should be for all man and beast, and we want to promote responsible adoptions during the holiday season,” explains Jamie Hunter, the vice-president of SCARS. “With all the turmoil that’s going on with the economy, we want to remind everyone that donating to help needy animals is a worthwhile cause- and fun at the same time!”

Shoppers are invited to visit and adopt the animals, shop with the vendors and enjoy great door prizes, and good coffee surrounded by unconditional love. Guests are also welcome to bring a canned good for the Edmonton Food bank, or the animals at SCARS. Bottle donations will also be accepted.

SCARS is a volunteer run, non-profit society that is dedicated to rescuing and re-homing animals. Funded only by donations and events like these, SCARS requests your support.
