Edmonton, AB- An amazing group of Canadian authors and publishers are descending on Edmonton this week to celebrate excellence in writing achievement. For five bucks, lovers of literature will be treated to a night of laughs, tears, and literary genius.

Presented by CBC’s Radio Active host Peter Brown, Celebrating Hopes, Dreams and Achievements at theTimms Centre for the Arts, promises to be an extraordinary evening of readings, presentations, and entertainment, guaranteed to be affordable for everyone.

“This is an opportunity for all booklovers to spend a night enjoying the very best in Canadian writing talent, without breaking the bank. These days when money is tight, what more could you ask for?” asks Suzanne Harris, one of the event’s organizers.

Presenting their works will be winners of the 2008 Canadian Authors Association Literary Awards including authors Asa Boxer, Colleen Murphy, Mark Haroun and Robert Wright. Giving his special presentation “Mapping the Geography of Hope,” will be author Chris Turner whose bestselling book Geography of Hope: A Tour of the World We Need has been named one of the Globe & Mail’s Best Books of the year.

Highlights of the evening will include a performance by the Edmonton Spoken Word Youth choir. One night. Five Bucks. A Whole Lotta Writers. You won’t want to miss this.
